At a glance, I’m a church planter’s wife, homeschooling mama, homemaker in progress, former middle school teacher, and pursuer of Jesus above all.
My husband, Mike, and I live in rural Missouri with our four kids and cranky cat. I’m a Midwest transplant from Pittsburgh. Mike and I met on a mission trip while I was on Summer Staff, and he was his church’s youth director. The teens in his youth group set us up. (I’m forever indebted to them for all those awkward moments!) We were married after 18 months of long-distance, and I’ve adored him ever since.
Motherhood is one of my greatest joys, even as it stretches me far beyond myself. I live in the tension of adoring my kids in their current stage while aching over how fast it’s all going. I’ve 100% become “that mom” who tells younger mamas, “Treasure your time with them – it goes fast.” We’ve experienced the pain of loss through two miscarriages and a stillborn son. In the grieving, we learned firsthand that God’s grace is a lifeline for the brokenhearted.
